General Dentistry in Dripping Springs
At Ron S. White, DDS, we want to help you keep your smile for life! Maintaining good oral health is the key to preventing bigger problems down the road—and it’s always preferable to avoid a problem than to resolve one after it has already developed.
Regular oral exams and cleanings, along with practicing a daily oral hygiene routine at home, are the best ways to maintain good oral health and avoid developing problems in the first place.
What to Expect During Your General Dental Checkup
Our Approach
When you come in for your initial visit, we will do a comprehensive examination that includes going over your medical history, taking photos and X-rays, a cancer screening, and checking the health of your gum tissue. We’ll explain everything we find and schedule an appointment for a cleaning and for any other treatment you may need.
Many people think a cleaning is all they have to do to maintain their oral health. And it’s true that regular cleanings are very important—no matter how hard you work at keeping your teeth and gums healthy by regular brushing and flossing, a professional cleaning is the only way to remove plaque and tartar.
But there are other reasons why routine exams are so important in maintaining good oral health. We do oral cancer screenings to ensure that any potential issues can be caught in the very early stages, when they’re much easier to treat. We also check the health of your gum tissue. Unfortunately, gum disease is a common problem for many adults, and you may be experiencing the early stages of this condition without even realizing it. During your exam, we will also look for signs of periodontal disease and will recommend appropriate actions to stop it early on.
And of course, we’ll check the condition of your teeth and any existing dental work.
